Judy Hansen

Judy Lee Hansen of Jerome, Idaho, 77, passed peacefully away surrounded by her family, on October 30, 2021, at her daughter’s home. Judy was born on February 10, 1944, in Logan, Utah to John and Iva Hansen. She was the youngest of 3 daughters. She grew up in Logan as a smart young woman. She graduated Logan High School and went on to college in Salt Lake City where she received her LPN degree. After receiving her degree, she married her husband, Thomas Gary Hansen of 45 years, until his death in 2011. Together they had 5 children.

Judy was an excellent and very caring, kindhearted mother. She always supported her kids; they always came first in her life. On top of being the best mother, Judy worked as a full-time nurse, mostly in long term health care. She was a very compassionate, loving individual and loved her work caring for the elderly. She also served several years on the Idaho Board of Nursing.

Judy was an avid basketball fan. She had a dear love for LeBron James and followed him each time he changed teams; she was his biggest fan. She loved basketball so much, she would watch reruns of basketball games at times. Judy was an amazing seamstress and quilter. Her talent to sew and quilt were incredible, and it showed in her sewing and quilting projects. Judy loved country music, such as George Strait and Johnny Cash. She cherished Elvis as well and it was almost a guarantee that she would be loudly playing her records anytime you walked into her house – unless there was a basketball game on!

Judy was the most beautiful, thoughtful, smart, witty, and funny lady. She had a beautiful soul and smile and will be greatly missed.

Judy is survived by her children:  Dan (Renee) Hansen, Vince (Robyn) Hansen, Liz (Scott) Lewis, John (Lauren) Hansen, and Maria McMillan, along with several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Thomas Gary Hansen; her parents; and one sister.
