Albino Moreno Medellin

Albino Moreno was born on August 23, 1940, in Eagle Pass, Texas, to Albino L. Moreno and Maria B. Medellin. 

As a young man, Albino proudly served in the United States Army. He was stationed in Germany before receiving an honorable medical discharge and returning home to the United States.

 Music was an important part of Albino’s early life. For many years, he performed with Johnny Silva y Su Conjunto in Eagle Pass. He later moved to Jerome, Idaho, where he worked as a farmer before beginning a long and successful career with The Amalgamated Sugar Company in Twin Falls. 

Through hard work, dedication, and a strong knowledge of his trade, Albino advanced to the position of First-Class Electrician and later served as an assistant supervisor. He was also a Chief Union Steward, representing and supporting his fellow employees. In addition, he served as president of the TASCO Employees Federal Credit Union. His coworkers knew him as a skilled, dependable, and respected man who was always willing to help others. 

Albino retired in 1995 after many years of dedicated service. In retirement, he treasured the time he spent with his family and enjoyed his favorite pastime, the outdoors. He will be remembered as a hardworking man who took great pride in providing for his family, serving others, and sharing the life he built with the people he loved. 

Albino was preceded in death by his parents, Albino L. Moreno and Maria B. Medellin; his brothers, Efrain Moreno and Benny Moreno; and his sister, Martha Moreno. 

He is survived by his wife, Viola H. Moreno; his children, James Lara (Melinda Hernandez), Victoria Moreno, Patsy Luzon (Al Luzon), and Barbara Osterhoudt (David Osterhoudt); his grandchildren, Nicole Roberts, Loriana Moreno, Alexandria Covarrubias, and Rosemary Osterhoudt; and four great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 5pm until 7pm, Thursday, July 23, 2026, at Farnsworth Mortuary, 1343 South Lincoln Avenue, Jerome. Funeral service will be held at 2pm, Friday, July 24, 2026, at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 216 2nd Avenue East, Jerome. Burial will follow at Jerome Cemetery. 

Albino’s strength, work ethic, music, stories, and love for his family will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered. 

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jerome Catholic Church in Jerome, Idaho, in honor of Albino Moreno. Your prayers, love, and support during this difficult time are deeply appreciated.
