Alvin Lee Taylor

October 1, 1930 — November 9, 2023

JEROME

Alvin Lee Taylor aka Squeak, 93, of Jerome, Idaho passed away peacefully in his home November 9, 2023. Alvin was born October 1, 1930 at his home in Jasper, Arkansas to Ewin and Zora Taylor. He grew up on a farm just outside of Jasper on the Buffalo River. When he was 16 years old, they moved to Oklahoma for about a year and then settled into a farm in Harrison where he worked on the farm with his dad and his siblings.

He met the love of his life Genette Wilson Taylor in high school in Harrison. Alvin and Genette married on March 25, 1950, shortly after they left Arkansas and came to Jerome, Idaho to work for the summer. They enjoyed what Idaho had to offer so much that they decided to stay and start their family. Alvin had two children Karen Taylor Stuart born in October of 1950, and Roger Taylor born in December of 1953.

Alvin chose a career with Northside Lumber and was with them many years until it transitioned into Volco where he stayed with them many more years and eventually it transitioned into Franklin Building Supply. He loved work so much that even after he retired he chose to stay at Franklin Building Supply part time until he fully retired in 2003.

Alvin enjoyed going up north into the Sawtooth Mountains every year to camp, fish, and gather wood for the winter to come. He also enjoyed tending to his garden and the abundance of fruit trees that his wife would can up for them. While relaxing, Alvin enjoyed watching old western movies and shows. But what he loved the most was his family and spent his entire life loving and taking care of them. Always making sure everyone had everything that they needed. He spent his time doing things from teaching his grandchildren how to pitch a tent, catch and gut a fish, and how to be a hard worker, to doting and spoiling his great Grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Alvin was preceded in death by both of his parents, Ewin and Zora Taylor; his wife, Genette Taylor; daughter, Karen Stuart; and granddaughter, Brenda Rowsell.

Alvin is survived by his son, Roger Taylor of Jerome, Idaho; grandchildren, Richard (Mindy) Stuart of Salt Lake City, Utah; Bryan Stuart of Filer, Idaho; and Rachel (Nate) Guymon of Filer, Idaho; great grandchildren, Makitah Kentch; Bryce (McKenzi) Stuart; Skylar (Mackenzy) Stuart; Eric Stuart; Ashley Casey; Kara Rowsell; Katie Rowsell; Baylee (Karen) Carney; Amara Guymon; and Lilyona Guymon; and great great grandchildren, Kyson, Everlee, Khalilah, Cash, and Baby Girl Carney due in February.

Memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at Farnsworth Mortuary, 1343 S Lincoln Ave, Jerome.
