Barbara Gregg

April 7, 1952 — November 23, 2014

Barbara Gregg, 62, of Jerome, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family, on Sunday November 23, 2014.  She was born April 7, 1952, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the daughter of Robert Carl Laakso and Sophie Barbara Cimochowski Laakso.  Her mother passed away when Barbara was quite young.  Her father's sales career kept the family moving, but they eventually settled in Fremont, California, where Barb graduated from Washington High School in 1970.  She went right to work for Dr. Charney in his eye surgery practice as a bookkeeper and eventually became the office manager retiring after 25 years of service.   She married Jack Gregg in 1983.  They made their home in Fremont where they raised three children.  After retiring, they settled in Jerome.

Barb loved dancing, music and attending concerts.  She also loved shopping, cooking and enjoyed golfing and her golf friends.  Barb fought a valiant fight against brain cancer and never complained or lost hope.  She will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be sorely missed.

Barb is survived by her husband, Jack Gregg of Jerome; their children, David (Tiffany) Powers of Morgan Hill, CA, Kelly Powers of Scottsdale, AZ and Jamie (Rich) Hoop of Oakley, CA; two grandchildren, Aiden and Amelie;  four sisters, Jackie (Steve) Huckaby, Patti Sterling, Laurie Offner and Cindy Pukini; and many extended family members and friends.  She is preceded in death by her parents.

Memorial services will be conducted at 4:00 PM, Friday November 28, 2014, at Farnsworth Mortuary Chapel, 1343 South Lincoln Ave., Jerome, ID 83338.
