RICHFIELD

Barbara Jo Sumner Wilson, 83, of Richfield, Idaho, passed away March 19, 2026. She was born on March 11, 1943, in Livingston, Montana, to Oneida and Arthur Sumner. She spent her early life in Livingston and attended North Side School (by a taxicab) through second grade. She attended rural schools near Pray, Montana, and graduated from 8th grade in Tom Miner Basin, Montana.

Learning to drive at a very early age, she drove a 54 Chevy pickup on a gravel road and across a one-way bridge to meet the school bus to attend high school. No driver's license was required — not that anyone knew. She moved to several places in Montana. First to Butte and then onto Phillipsburg, where she learned to drive a logging truck as she was always such an excellent driver. She moved to Salt Lake City for a short time, married Don Workman there, and moved with her family to Richfield, Idaho. Barbara and Don divorced, and some years later, she was remarried to Tim Wilson.

Barbara enjoyed cooking, fishing, and spending time with her family.

Barbara is survived by her loving husband, Tim; daughter, Diane Workman; her sons, Jefferson Workman and Arthur (Leanne) Workman. She is also survived by her sister Joyce and husband, Chuck Ludwig; brother, Tom Sumner, and wife, Debby. She leaves behind her grandson, Harrison and family; and great-grandson, Brendon; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Bart Workman; and grandchildren, Josh and Amber Park.

Graveside Service will be held at 3:00 pm, Friday, March 27, 2026, at the Richfield Cemetery, Richfield, Idaho.
