Beth Loenza (Couch) Poulsen passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 27, 2025, at her home in Jerome, Idaho. She was born on March 2, 1928, in Franklin, Idaho, to Leroy John and Loenza Couch. Beth was the third of five children and was preceded in death by her husband, Don; her parents, siblings, one grandson, and one great-grandson. She is survived by her four children: Jerry (Corie) Poulsen, Blake (Charlene) Poulsen, Marsha Poulsen, and Charlene (David) Capps.
Beth moved with her family to Logan, Utah at the age of two, where she spent most of her childhood and completed her schooling. On the evening of her high school graduation, Beth met a handsome young man, Don K. Poulsen, the brother of her best friend, Nondas. Don had recently returned from serving in the Navy during World War II, and the two quickly fell in love. Following a brief courtship, Don and Beth were married in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple for time and all eternity on November 27, 1946.
In 1959, Don and Beth moved from Logan, Utah, to Twin Falls, Idaho, where they raised their children. Beth often said that being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother was one of her greatest accomplishments. She truly shined in these roles and had a remarkable way of making each member of her family feel like they were her favorite. Being surrounded by family meant more to Beth than anything money could buy, and she took every opportunity to express her love for them.
In 1970, Beth and Don moved to Jerome, Idaho, which became their home for the remainder of their lives. Beth was preceded in death by Don in 2011. He was her cherished partner and best friend. Married for 65 years, she continued to feel his absence until the day she passed.
Beth will be forever remembered by her family, friends, and all who were blessed by her generous heart, kind nature, and sweet smile. She lived a full and faithful life of 97 years and was the last of her generation in both her family and Don’s. She will be deeply missed by her 4 children, 15 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.
