Brian James Thompson, 64, of Jerome, Idaho, passed away peacefully at home on January 20, 2026.
Brian was born to Bill and Marilyn Thompson on October 27, 1961. He grew up in Jerome, Idaho, in a close family alongside his older brother, Mike, and his dad's siblings. Brian worked with his dad from his early teens in the hay and potato business. His high school years at Jerome High School were filled with top grades, cross country, track, and the beginning of lifetime friendships- one of which would become his wife, Jane. They shared 47 years together from their first date.
Brian and Jane farmed together for over 20 years, followed by Brian retiring from Twin Falls County as an agricultural appraiser.
Brian was deeply devoted to his family and friends. His greatest joys in life were his daughters, Melisa and Jenna, and grandson, Kellen. He found joy in the simple things in life and loved many pets throughout the years. He felt most at peace in nature- hunting, fishing, and climbing several mountain peaks. He completed two marathons and enjoyed crabbing on the Oregon Coast.
Brian will be remembered for his kindness, warmth, and the love he shared so freely. Brian will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Brian was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Marily Thompson; his father and mother-in-law, Chuck and Jo Anne Ireton; and sisters-in-law, Dorothy Ireton and Dawna Ireton.
Brian is survived by his spouse, Jane Thompson; his daughter and son-in-law, Melisa and Jeremy Kytle; his daughter, Jenna Thompson; brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Connie Jo Thompson; grandson, Kellen Kytle; as well as several aunts and uncles that were like siblings to him.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Stone House & Co Event Center, 330 4th Ave S in Twin Falls, Idaho.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Brian’s name to the Be Tree Foundation.
