Buck Young

December 30, 1928 — February 24, 2016

Shoshone- Buck Boyd Young, 87, of Shoshone, passed away peacefully on Wednesday February 24, 2016, in Wendell, Idaho.  He was born December 30, 1928, in Shoshone, the son of Charles A. Young and Esther Elizabeth Fletcher Young.  Boyd was raised in Shoshone and graduated from Shoshone High School.  Following a brief stint with the Highway Department, he moved to Southern California where he met and married Josephine Cosentino.  They settled in San Bernardino where they raised two children.  Most of Boyd's working years were spent in grocery retail and he retired in 1984.  Josephine passed away in 2003 and Boyd returned to Shoshone.  He loved Shoshone and returning there was a dream come true.  He enjoyed visiting with family and friends and playing cards.

Boyd is survived by his children, Richard (Barbara) Young, of San Bernardino and Linda (Wally Couture) Young of Portland, Oregon; four grandchildren, two great-granddaughters; and many extended family members and friends.  He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and eight siblings.

Family and friends are invited to a memorial beginning at 2:00 p.m. , Saturday February 27, 2016, at the Shoshone Senior Citizen Center, 218 West North Rail Street, Shoshone, Idaho.  Arrangements are under the care of Farnsworth Mortuary of Jerome. www.farnsworthmortuary.com
