Burletha Jean Price (Blair), sometimes called Jeanie, age 86 passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 16, 2024 at her daughter’s home in Idaho. She was born in Oil Springs, Kentucky, the daughter of Burlie John and Mollie Love Blair (Witten) and Hazel Blair (Crace).
She grew up in Oil Springs, Kentucky, and attended the local school system with her 7 siblings. Later she moved to Marion, Ohio and married Robert William Price. Together they lived in Toledo, Ohio, and Amargosa Valley, Nevada. She lived in Winnemucca, Nevada for over 35 years before living with her daughter and son-in-law in Idaho.
When Burletha was a young woman, she worked as a waitress, but most of her working years were at two different mines in Nevada. She was a lab technician for American Borate in Amargosa Valley and the HyCroft Gold Mine in Winnemucca. She was a great lab technician because she had excellent math skills. After retiring from the mines, she ran parts for Diamond Plastic in Nevada. She also worked for one of the casinos.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Chelsie Daniel Bailey; a son, James Mirl Price; two brothers, Kenneth Burley Blair and Johnny Wayne Blair; and her sisters, Theda Blair and Betty Williams.
She is survived by her children, Robert Wayne Price, Jennifer and (Bud Bailey), and William Paul Price; twelve grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Freda Colvin, Charlette Conley and Yvonne Crace; and her many nephews and nieces.
Our family would like to take this time thank Kathy and Amanda Kent of Idaho for taking care of our mother during the day. You were both so very gentle and kind to her. We also would like to thank Dr. Adajar of Winnemucca, Nevada, and Dr. Helms of Twin Falls, Idaho for providing great care to her. Thank you to the Hospice team Shirley, Madison, Christina, Melissa and Todd for the care and support provided.
Memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at Sonoma Funeral Home, 47 W 1st St, Winnemucca, Nevada, 89445.
In lieu of flowers please make a donation to your local food shelter. Our mom, Burletha Jean, had a kind and generous heart and she always worried about people getting enough to eat. She is loved and will be missed by many.
Memories and condolences may be shared with the family on Burletha’s memorial webpage at www.farnsworthmortuary.com.
