Christopher James DeQuintanaRoo, 21, was suddenly and tragically taken from us on June 12, 2025, in Kimberly, Idaho. He was the innocent victim of a needless and senseless shooting altercation while at a friend’s residence where he was a frequent visitor.
Christopher had a kind heart and an easy-going personality and was very well liked by all who knew and met him. People instantly felt drawn towards him because of his magnetic personality and his big bright smile, which he always seemed to be wearing. He had various interests and hobbies, but most of the time you would find him at his favorite fishing spot with his family and friends or in his room with a headset on talking and laughing with his crew while having a friendly battle on his PlayStation 5!
Christopher grew up in the Magic Valley area but settled down as a resident of Twin Falls, Idaho, and loved the outdoors where he nurtured his love of fishing and hunting. If you knew Christopher well then you would often find him camping in the South Hills with his family and friends or fishing with them somewhere along the many fishing spots along the Snake River.
He was born in Fairbanks, Alaska on October 31, 2003, to Maria Elena DeQuintanaRoo but they soon moved to Idaho where he spent the rest of his short life.
Christopher was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Edna Gayle Carlton-Hough of Fairbanks, Alaska; paternal grandmother, Lila Marie Koch, of Wendell Idaho; and his paternal aunt, Jessie Marie McKean of Twin Falls, Idaho.
He is survived by his mother, Maria Elena DeQuintanaRoo of Twin Falls, Idaho; his maternal grandfather, Joaquin Quadero DeQuintanaRoo of Lemon Grove, California; younger brother, Ashton Lee Koch of Fairbanks, Alaska; younger sister, Elena Marie Koch of Jerome, Idaho; foster family, the Kalbfleisch’s; his extended Murphy family; Brad Murphy; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family.
Christopher’s bright shining beautiful light will be forever missed by his huge extended family and many close friends.
A viewing will be held from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at Farnsworth Mortuary, 1343 South Lincoln Ave, Jerome. A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 pm, Sunday, August 3, 2025, at the Filer Church of the Nazarene, 315 Yakima Ave, Filer.
Memories and condolences may be shared with the family on Christopher’s memorial webpage at www.farnsworthmortuary.com.
