Clint Earl Mayes, age 48, of Twin Falls, Idaho, passed away unexpectedly on August 26, 2026.
He was the firstborn son of Daryl Dean Mayes and Kathleen Denise Peterson Mayes on December 28, 1977. Clint attended schools in Twin Falls and graduated from Twin Falls High School. There, he was a member of the National Honor Society and played football, baseball, and basketball.
Clint was known for his infectious humor and his love for heavy metal music. He enjoyed going to concerts with his wife and children, drumming, being active outdoors, and staying busy. He played in both a men’s and a co-ed softball league for several seasons. Clint liked fixing cars and was known as a YouTube mechanic. He spent his years working as a truck driver. Clint was also a basketball referee for middle and high school games and an umpire for Babe Ruth baseball league games.
Though Clint succumbed to a private and overwhelming struggle, those who loved him choose to remember his brightness, joy, and love shared during his time with us. He instilled many life lessons along the way, which have had a strong impact on his children’s lives. Being a husband, father, and grandfather came with ease to Clint, and his family knew of his devotion to them.
Clint is survived by his wife, Chelsea Brooke Powell; daughters, Saydi Brooke and Oakley Kathleen Mayes; son, Cayleb Clint Mayes; grandsons, Dravin Charles and Declan Clint Maynard; father, Daryl Dean Mayes, PT, DPT, MHS (Tamara); brother, Dillon Mayes (Tiffany); and sisters, Ashley (Shane), Abbey (Layne), and Alyson Mayes. He was preceded in death by his mother, Denise.
Graveside services will be held on September 9, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the Twin Falls Cemetery, 2350 4th Avenue East, Twin Falls, Idaho 83301.
