Cynthia Mary Wiersema, fondly known as Cindy, was born on July 6, 1953, and departed from this world on August 6, 2025. She lived a life full of vibrant and bold expressions, much like her whimsical outfits and hats that made her stand out in crowd. Cindy graduated from High School in 1971 in Ontario, California, shaped her career working at various places including Kmart, Jerome Cheese, EE-da-How specialties, and worked at the Tupperware Factory in Jerome, Idaho.
Cindy was a woman of strong convictions, known for her candidness and a personality that could light up any room. She was never one to hold back her feelings, often expressing her thoughts with honesty. Her beloved grandchildren—Braden, Alec, Adrian, Benjamin, Rebecca, and Jordon—were her pride and joy, each holding a special place in her heart. Though she may not have displayed affection often, her actions were a testament to her love and devotion.
Cindy truly relished life’s simple pleasures, from spending quality time with her snowbird friends to participating in cooking contests where her cornbread recipe often took home accolades. With a passion for gardening, she possessed a green thumb and was always ready to share her invaluable gardening advice. She enjoyed shopping for bargains, loved cheering at concerts, and her favorite entertainer was Danny Marona.
Cindy found joy in a wide array of hobbies including bowling, boating, bingo, playing pool, dancing, and maintaining her beautiful yard. With her husband of 53 years, she created countless memories during boat rides on the pontoon with her grandchildren, always bringing along her cherished dog, Twinkie. She also treasured the moments spent with family and friends at the slots in Jackpot, often donning her favorite color, red.
She leaves behind her loving husband, Kurt Wiersema; their daughters, Mickey De Kruyf, Jaime Wiersema, and Marsha Wiersema; and her six adoring grandchildren. Her legacy is one of authenticity, warmth, and resilience.
Cindy was preceded in death by her mother and father, James and Donna Helm; grandchild, Hanna De Kruyf; youngest daughter, Elizabeth "Lizzy" Wiersema; and her beloved dog, Twinkie.
