Darla McKean

Darla McKean, of Jerome Idaho, passed away September 2, 2026 after a long hard fight with cancer. She was born December 2, 1963 to Orvel and Marilyn Lawrence in California on a Naval Base. She spent her childhood and early adult years in Colorado. She moved to Jerome in the early 90’s.

Darla was a person of many talents including baking, canning, sewing and her ultimate passion crocheting. She loved her animals, especially her dogs.

Darla had love and compassion for all and had a magical way of always seeing the best in everyone. If she ever learned your faults she loved you even more.

Throughout her years she worked in food services, waiting tables and cooking, housekeeping, truck driving and substitute teaching within the Jerome area. Anything to provide for the people she loved. She never knew a stranger and always had advice, even if you didn’t want it.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry McKean of Jerome; her son, James (Amy) of Alcoa, TN; her daughters, Clista (James) of Sonora, KY and Angela (Kevin) of Hodgenville, KY; as well as her sons, Dustin (Lisa) of Wendell; Robert (Kelsey), Brian (Beth) and daughter Krystal of Jerome; and 19 grandkids. She was preceded in death by many of her loved ones, grandparents, parents, aunts and uncles, a sister and her daughter, Jessie of Gooding.

Memorial services will be set at a later date.
