Dennis Stewart

Dennis George Stewart was born March 12, 1935 in South Jordan, Utah to Oral Glen Stewart and Beatrice Muriel Lloyd Stewart. He passed away peacefully at his home in Carey, Idaho on January 4, 2017.

Dennis was raised on a dairy farm where learned to love animals and how to work hard. His love of sports began in high school where he was active in basketball and football; this love carried over to watchig his grandchildren participate in many school activities.

He married his high school sweetheart, Carolyn Livingston, in the Salt Lake City Temple on September 11, 1953. They enjoyed 63 years together, which included raising three daughters and owning and operating a cattle ranch in Carey. His family has always been his highest priority in life.

An active member of the LDS church, he served in many callings, including Bishop and High Councilman. Together, with his wife, they served three LDS missions to Nauvoo, Illinois, Palmya, New York, and Mesa, Arizona. They also served in the Boise and Twin Falls temples for 16 years.

His physical strength was only surpassed by his spriritual faith- a legacy he has left his family. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn; three daughters, Denice Barton (Jack) of Nampa, ID; Brenda Peck (Thomas); and Tracy Green (Kyle) all of Carey, ID; eleven grandchildren; and 26 ½ great grandchildren- who love and will miss him very much. He is also survived by his siblings, Shirley LeBaron; Lynn Stewart; Joan Bennion; and Rand Stewart.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Monday, January 9, 2017 at the LDS Church in Carey, Idaho, with a viewing beginning at Noon. Graveside services will conclude at the Carey Cemetery.
