Ed Zenoniani

EDWARD FRANCIS ZENONIANI

Ed Zenoniani of Jerome, Idaho, passed away March 3, 2017, four days after his 99 th birthday. Ed was born February 26, 1918, in Gross, Kansas, to Celeste and Katie Zenoniani. Ed was raised and graduated from high school there.

Ed joined the United States Army on 4-29-1941 and served until 2-9-1946. During this time he was awarded Philippine Liberation Medal, American Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic Pacific Service Medal, and American Theater Service Medal.

On April 14, 1944, he married his best friend and love for life, Avis Zenoniani, in El Cajon, California. Ed and Avis moved to Cody, Wyoming, in 1947, where they farmed until 1956, then moved to Rupert, Idaho and farmed for 10 more years. In 1966, they moved to Hailey, Idaho, where they owned and operated the Sawtooth Lodge until 1974. After retiring they moved to Payette, Idaho.

Ed’s favorite hobby was dancing; he danced twice a week until he was 96. He loved to fish and garden, people from all over loved his tomatoes and fresh garden vegetables, also he loved traveling to visit with relatives and friends.

He was a wonderful Husband, Father, Grandpa, Great-Grandpa and Great Great-Grandpa, whose influence will continue to span many generations.

Ed is survived by his daughter, Cynthia (Ken) Van Leuven of Boise, Idaho; his son, Mick (Susan) Zenoniani, Kimberly, Idaho; grandchildren, Kirby VanLueven, Boise, Idaho;  Kerry (Mike) Heada, Boise, Idaho; Jennifer (Rick) Bradshaw, Hailey, Idaho; and Michael Zenoniani, Boise, Idaho;  two great grandchildren, Jacob VanLueven,  Boise, Idaho and Reese Bradshaw, Hailey, Idaho; and one great great granddaughter, Payton Heada, Boise, Idaho. He was preceded in death by his wife, Avis; his sister, Maxine Larsen; and his great granddaughter, Brittany.

We will forever miss, but never forget, Ed’s wonderful laughter and personality.

Service will be in Cody, Wyoming at  a later date.
