It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Edward Leonard Blunt Sr., who died peacefully on April 7, 2025, in Jerome, Idaho, at the age of 76.
Edward was born on March 10, 1949, in Twin Falls, Idaho, to Stanley Francis Blunt and Alice Lorene Blunt. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Ed graduated from Twin Falls High School and went into the Army. He served from 1966 to 1976. After leaving the Army he went on to study diesel mechanics at the College of Southern Idaho. He began his career working as a mechanic at Wagner's before transitioning to truck driving, a profession he took great pride in. He retired from Arlo Lott Trucking after an impressive career, having achieved over 3 million safe miles on the road.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Alice Blunt; and four brothers: Jimmy Blunt, Frank Blunt, Mike Blunt, and John Blunt.
Edward is survived by his loving wife, Gay Arlene Blunt; his children, Angie Chatman, Eddie Blunt, and Reynold (Sara) Blunt; and his grandchildren: Jeremy, Velena, Viola, Kiriae, Jackson, Jenna, Joseph, Bailey, Courtney, Abby, Ryland, and Reynlee Blunt. He also leaves behind his great-grandchildren, Emilo, Reagan and Gray. Edward is also survived by his siblings, Randy Blunt, Rick (Gayle) Blunt, and Shelley Blunt.
A service for family and friends will be held at Noon, Friday, May 2, 2025, at Snake River Canyon National Cemetery, Buhl, Idaho.
Edward's legacy of hard work, love for his family, and quiet strength will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
