Eldon Gene Jorgenson, 84, passed on peacefully June 21, 2026, in Twin Falls, Idaho.
Eldon was born June 4, 1942, to Deward and Zelma Jorgenson. He spent his early years in Adrian, Oregon, before moving, as a teenager, with his family to Homedale, Idaho.
As a young man Eldon proudly served in the United States Navy in Japan. He often spoke with pride about his service in the ship's laundry and the standards of excellence he maintained there. The lessons of service, responsibility, and hard work stayed with him throughout his life.
Eldon spent much of his life farming and dairying, custom farming, and long-haul truck driving, a profession that allowed him to combine his strong work ethic with his love of travel. In the early 1990’s, he moved his family to Idaho's Magic Valley, where he continued building a life centered on faith in Jesus Christ, family, and friendships.
A lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Eldon loved serving others. He especially cherished his opportunity to serve as a member of the local Quorum of the Seventy. Later in life, he found great joy serving God in the House of the Lord with his wives, Neva and Donalyn.
Eldon loved visiting with people, telling stories, sharing jokes, and making others laugh. Whether speaking with a lifelong friend or someone he had just met, he had a gift for making people feel welcome. He was known for his generosity, his willingness to help others, and his belief that a neighbor in need was simply a friend he had not helped yet. Though he maintained high standards, those who knew him best also knew his loving heart.
He enjoyed traveling, working in his yard, caring for his many pets, and enjoying strawberry jam on anything. Family and friends will remember his humor, his endless stories, and the way he could turn an ordinary moment into a conversation.
Eldon is survived by his son, Wayne (Kamilee) Jorgenson; daughter, Cheryl Crawford; brother, Laverne Jorgenson; sister, Bernice (Earl) Smith; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; extended natural and by marriage family members; and many friends whose lives were touched by his kindness and companionship.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wives, Neva Jorgenson and Donalyn Jorgenson; his sister, Ralene Clark; and other loved ones.
Those who knew Eldon will remember a life marked by hard work, faith in Jesus Christ, service, generosity, and friendship. While we mourn his passing, we find comfort in the knowledge that death is not the end, but a transitional homecoming. After years of loving and missing those who had gone before him, we rejoice in his reunion with many familiar faces—especially his wives Neva and Donalyn—and hearing the words his heart longed for: "Well done, thou good and faithful servant."
Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, June 26, 2026, at the Jerome cemetery. Come as you are.
