Gayle Carolene Kuhn

February 2, 1946 — May 4, 2025

KIMBERLY

Gayle Carolene (Moore) Kuhn, 79, passed away peacefully in her sleep the morning of May 4, 2025, at Alpine Manor in Kimberly, Idaho. Gayle was born Feb 2, 1946, in Twin Falls, Idaho, to Walter and Faye Moore. She spent her childhood growing up with her older sister, Doris, in Buhl, Idaho. She attended Buhl schools where she was active in the band and developed her love of music. She graduated from Buhl High school and went on to attend Boise Business College and the Community College in Twin Falls where she received her associates.

Gayle married Duane Kuhn on November 18, 1966, in Elko, Nevada, and went on to have three children, Darren, Dustin and Danelle. They lived in Jerome where she was very active in her community. She worked at the courthouse and Bank until she and Duane started Snoco Dairy where she did most of the secretarial work as well as delivered dairy products around the valley. She was active in the Moose Lodge, bowling, singing groups, theatre and volunteering. She enjoyed playing both piano and organ for the United Methodist Church in Jerome.

After 23 years she was divorced and went on to work numerous jobs and moved to various places including Pocatello and Boise, Idaho, Anaheim, California, Aberdeen, Washington, and Cleveland, Ohio. It was in Cleveland that she met a special friend, Rob. Together they enjoyed all sporting activities. The Cleveland Browns, the Cavaliers and the Indians were among her favorites to watch and cheer on. She also loved golf. Gayle lived in Cleveland and had just retired from RITA (Regional Income Tax Agency) before moving back to Twin Falls, Idaho, to be closer to family and friends in October of 2023. She had only been back two short days when she ended up hospitalized for four days and sent home on Hospice. She lived in her new apartment in Twin that she was very proud of. Her daughter and granddaughter, Lillie, kept a close eye on her, and helped her to be able to live alone. They were joined by an amazing Hospice staff through Auburn Crest Hospice, which became family, and we appreciate them very much.

During this time, she was able to explore the valley, take walks on the canyon, watch fireworks, enjoy cases and cases of yellow Redbull, meet up with lifelong friends and spend much needed time with family. Gayle was able to celebrate her 79th birthday this year with many friends and family present and it meant so much to her. It was during these past eighteen months that her children and grandchildren really were able to spend quality time with her and build solid lasting memories.

In February of this year, family moved her into Alpine Manor in Kimberly to give her 24/7 care.

Gayle is survived by her children, Darren (Kathy) Kuhn of Pocatello, Dustin (Yvonne) of Boise and Danelle Ross of Kimberly; three nephews, Doug (Kim) Meyer of Washington, Greg (Lauren) Meyer of Washington, and Derek (Julie) Meyer of Moscow; grandchildren, Jaide, Tyler, Josh, Lyric, Scott, Drake, Jeff, Christena, Briana, Ethan and Lillie; and twelve great grandchildren, all of whom she absolutely adored.

She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents; parents, Walter and Faye Moore; and sister and brother-in-law, Doris and Gary Meyer.

Words cannot express the gratitude and sincere thanks to Auburn Crest and Alpine Manor for loving and caring for our mom during these difficult days.

Gayle’s Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday May 9, 2025, at Farnsworth Mortuary, 1343 S Lincoln Ave, Jerome. We would love to invite all friends and family to come celebrate her life. Burial will conclude at the West End Cemetery, 1574 E Elm Street, Buhl.
