Gregory Dale Elmore

September 4, 1946 — March 29, 2026

JEROME

Gregory "Elmore" Dale Elmore, 79, of Jerome, passed away March 29, 2026.

Elmore (AKA Greg) was born on September 4, 1946, in San Diego, CA. His mother was Hinda Elmore, and his father, Harold Elmore, was stationed in the U.S. Navy at the time. He primarily grew up in Attwater, CA, where he started playing the drums at age 15. Right out of high school, he and his friends started up a few bands. From there, he continued to follow his dream of becoming a professional musician and moved to the Bay Area of San Francisco, CA. Ultimately, he became a favorite drummer for many bands in the Bay Area from the mid-60s all the way up to 2010, when he moved to Idaho with his wife for a simple life.

Elmore was such an unassuming man that, in his career as a professional, he realized that he had become famous for his powerful, unique drumming style. Fame wasn’t that important to him. During the course of his career he played large ample theaters, touring Europe, and playing at many of the Bay Area rock & blues clubs. He was happy.

Elmore was such a kind and generous man who loved his family and friends, old cars and any Harley, old or new, and playing music! He will truly be missed by his family, friends, and fans.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Stacy Elmore; daughter, Rachel Gilmoure; son, Jason Elmore; his two grandsons, Danial Elmer and Aiden Gilmoure; and brother Rod Mann.

We will always love him and be proud of him.
