Gregory Heinrich

March 16, 1954 — February 5, 2017

Gregory Brent Heinrich, 62, of Gooding passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at the Visions Hospice House in Jerome, Idaho.

Greg was born in Twin Falls, Idaho to A.L. 'Bud' and Clarice Heinrich on March 16, 1954. He grew up in the heart of Twin Falls and graduated from Twin Falls High School in 1972.

Greg had a successful career as a Consulting Appraiser for the Idaho State Tax Commission for 16 years. He served in this position from 2000 until he retired in April of 2016. Prior to these sixteen years he served in many other positions as an appraiser and as the Jerome County Assessor for many years. He had a love/hate relationship with his career, but he did love the people and the opportunities it provided for him.

Greg lived an active life full of camping, hunting, fishing, golfing, traveling and going to BSU football games with his beloved wife, Patty. He loved the outdoors and loved being with his family, especially his grandchildren and his cat, BobbiSue. Greg was known for being witty , and speaking his mind when needed. He loved gardening, canning and preparing meals for those he loved and was always up for visitors. Greg especially enjoyed staying connected with family and friends through Face Book.

Greg was preceded in death by his parents, A.L. 'Bud' and Clarice Heinrich, and his wife, Patty Bauscher.

He is survived by his two brothers and one sister; Mike (Peggy) Heinrich of San Jose, California, Steve (Donna) Heinrich of Meridian and Pam (Brent) Watterud of Milwaukie, Oregon.

Greg is also survived by his five children; Jenny (Mike) Souto of Bayport, New York, Terry Falter of Nampa, Idaho, Eric (Jenny) Whitmore of Twin Falls, Idaho Christie (Wyatt) Prescott of Belluvue, Idaho and Mike (Kelly) Bauscher of Boise, Idaho and his eight grandchildren, Kayli, Logan, Aubrey, Gavin, Gus, Katie, Agnes and Ame. Greg is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or to your favorite wildlife organization in his name.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Visions Hospice care team for their amazing love and support in his final days.

We love you Gregory. You were an amazing grandpa, dad, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend to all that knew you.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, February 11, 2017, 10:30 am at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, Twin Falls, Idaho.
