Holly R. Cook of Dietrich, Idaho, passed away September 4, 2025, in Boise, Idaho, at St. Luke’s Hospital, due to complications from Rheumatoid Arthritis. Holly was born December 13, 1958, to Carol and Carl Robinson. She graduated from Richfield High School in 1977, where she was active in sports, rodeo, and was crowned Outlaw Day Queen.
Holly married Joe Matheney, with whom she had her daughter Rachele. After their divorce, she married Harold Cook and welcomed her daughter Keely. Harold and Holly just celebrated 40 years of marriage. Holly was a devoted grandmother to MaKardi (Brandon), Ty, Kason, Gradin, and Jack, and a loving great-grandmother to Whitley and Wrenlee, and soon welcoming Waycee. She never missed a grandchild’s birthday, school/sporting event or holiday celebration as family always came first. This also included all the extra “grandkids” she showed up for.
In 1993, Holly founded Cook's Cleaning, known for her hard work and sense of humor and for being a bit of a hard ass. She was deeply involved in St. Peter’s Catholic Church, volunteering at mass and the annual bazaar. She was also recognized as Woman of the Year by the church. For over 40 years, she officiated high school volleyball, including state tournaments. She was a longtime volunteer in the community, ranging from 4-H leader, Lincoln County Fair and Rodeo, Idaho Horse Association and Bob Rodeo.
Holly was also very passionate about her house and her yard. Nothing was out of order or a weed in sight. She enjoyed sitting in the sun having a nice cold Coors light and some potato chips any time she could.
Holly is survived by her husband, Harold; her daughters, Rachele (Mike) Barnes and Keely (Skyler) Goody; her grandchildren, MaKardi (Brandon), Ty, Kason, Gradin and Jack; her great-granddaughters, Whitley, Wrenlee, and Waycee; her sisters, Carla (Jack) Riley and Cathy (Jock) Brown; and many other loved ones. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Mike.
Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, September 13, 202, at Richfield High School, new gymnasium, 555 Tiger Drive, Richfield, Idaho, with a gathering to follow at the Richfield City Park.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Peter’s Catholic Church 215 W B Street, Shoshone, Idaho 83352.
