Jacquelynne Barnes

Jackie Barnes was born November 7, 1927 in Ft. Morgan, Colorado to Paul "Lefty" and Bonita Beckman.  She passed away of natural causes at the University of Utah on October 15, 2017.

She spent her early years in California before moving to Jerome, ID with her parents. After graduating from Jerome High School in 1945, she married her high school sweet heart, Hersel E. Barnes.  They had seven children during their marriage, divorcing years later.  She was Queen for a Day in 1957 winning a tractor and the help of a farm hand for a year.

She attended Business College in Twin Falls, Idaho, graduating at the top of her class.  She then went to work for Selective Service System in Jerome from 1965 to 1973.  Then went to work in Twin Falls for USDA, Forest Service, Sawtooth National Forest retiring in 1994.

Jackie had many talents including sewing, knitting, crocheting, square dancing, fishing, and cooking for her ever growing family.  She was known for her delicious homemade pies and canning.  She was very generous and tried to help anyone she could. She enjoyed traveling and made two trips to Hawaii with different family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Randy; and grandson, Michael Jr.

Jackie is survived by her children, Dennis (Diana) of Tucson, AZ; Mick of Jerome; Kathy (Richard) Anthony of Carlin, NV; Rick of Hagerman; Mitch (Diana) of Jerome; and Tim (Carrie) of Jerome; 17 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, 14 great-great-grandchildren plus two on the way.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, October 28, 2017 at Farnsworth Mortuary, Jerome. Graveside services will conclude at Jerome Cemetery.
