Janet Kay Sharp

JEROME

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Janet Kay Sharp, who left us on July 31, 2026, in Twin Falls, Idaho, just days shy of her 68th birthday. Born on August 8, 1958, in Blackfoot, Idaho, Janet’s life was a testament to resilience, devotion, and enduring love.

Janet grew up in the gentle embrace of southern Idaho, raised by her parents, Wayne Thorpe and Barbara Wheeler Thorpe. The lessons she learned from them—about kindness, hard work, and family—guided her every step, both in bright days and in seasons of hardship. Though Wayne and Barbara have gone before her, their spirit lived on in Janet’s every gesture and smile.

Her journey as a mother was marked by profound joy and deep sorrow. She is reunited now with her beloved son, Kenneth Crowder, whose memory remained a gentle presence in her heart ever after his passing. Janet’s legacy continues through her surviving sons, Edward Crowder and George Crowder, who carry forward her compassion, determination, and laughter. Her family also includes her devoted husband, John Sharp, whose steadfast partnership brought comfort and meaning to Janet’s days. Janet held close to her heart her cherished relationship with Jessie Flora, who stood by her with affection and loyalty.

For all who knew Janet, her warmth was unmistakable—her steady support, her willingness to listen, and her sage advice were gifts bestowed quietly and generously. Friends and family remember her for the lightness she brought to difficult times, the encouragement she gave freely, and the unwavering love she cultivated in her home.

The community is invited to celebrate Janet Kay Sharp’s life and honor her memory at a Celebration of Life at Farnsworth Mortuary, 1343 S Lincoln Ave, Jerome, ID, on Friday, August 7, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. Together, we will gather to share stories, laughter, tears, and to find comfort in the countless ways she touched our lives.

Janet’s legacy is one of love—a love that endures in each remembered moment, each gentle word, each life she nourished and inspired. As we hold her memory close, may we strive to carry forward her spirit of kindness and the quiet, strong devotion she showed every day.

Memories and condolences may be shared with the family on Janet's memorial webpage at www.farnsworthmortuary.com.
