Jeffre Johnson

Jeffre Darrell Johnson, 81 of Hazelton, Idaho, passed peacefully on June 16, 2022, surrounded by friends and family. Jeff was born September 17, 1940, in Bell Flower, California.

He spent the war years growing up in the West Plains area of Missouri. Moving to Southern California in 1950 where he graduated high school and met Sharon Ann Kendrick. He and Sharon married on May 12, 1962, in West Covina, California. That same year he and his family moved to Hazetlton, Idaho looking for a better life, and raised their family, and began a trucking company.

Life was hard but they raised four children and eventually built a successful company in the process. Jeff and Sharon remained living in Hazelton for the remainder of their lives. Jeff’s greatest pleasures in life were hunting and fishing, and he loved Idaho. In later years Jeff’s health declined and he was attended to on a regular basis by his eldest son Scott, and his caregiver, Kathy Carllson.

Jeff was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon in 2017; parents, Royal and Leona; brother, James Johnson; daughter-in-law, Laura Johnson; and several nephews.

He is survived by his sons, Scott Johnson (LaVonn) of Kimberly, Idaho; Brett Johnson of Rugby, North Dakota; Ryan Johnson (Rowena) of Orofino, Idaho; daughter, Suzanne (Eric) Cummins of Idaho City, Idaho; sister, Kay Douglas of Hazelton, Idaho; sisters-in-law, Jan (Richard) Anderson of Woodland, California; brother-in-law Walt Kendrick of Colorado, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.

Graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at Hazelton, Idaho Cemetery, 1980 East 850 South, Hazelton.
