Joe Thomas Hawk, 72, passed away at his home August 31, 2024 after a short battle with cancer. Joe was born July 12, 1952 in Twin Falls, Idaho to Verl Thomas Hawk and Harold David Hawk, along with six siblings. He graduated from Twin Falls High School in 1971.
On Sept 7, 1973, Joe married the love of his life and best friend, Jo Ann Goin. They were married 50 years and 11 months. Joe worked at his brother's store, Denny's Market, before working in the tire business for 28 years. The last 14 years of his working career, he worked for the Jerome School District as a custodian. Joe often worked two jobs to support his family.
Joe was a loving, easy-going man who loved spending time with family. He was a faithful Chicago Bears fan. "Da Bears!" He loved old cars and going to car shows and he loved sunsets. He loved walking his dog, Journee, at CSI and he loved his cat, Aggee.
Joe is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Goin Hawk; his children, Shawn Thomas Hawk of Vernal, Utah; and Crystal Leigh Hawk of Savanah, Georgia; grandchildren, Raeven JC Spendlove and Gabriel Beau Spendlove of Vernal, Utah; great granddaughter, Blakeleigh Rowen Betts; brothers, Steve Hawk (Jeannene) and Scott Hawk (Candee); and many very special nieces, nephews and cousins whom he loved so very much.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Rhita Hackworth, Harold Hawk, Larry Hawk and Dennis Hawk.
A Celebration of Joe’s Life will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, September 28, 2024 at Farnsworth Mortuary, 1343 S Lincoln Ave, Jerome. A dinner will follow at the Jerome Senior Center. 520 N Lincoln Ave in Jerome. The service will be Livestreamed on Farnsworth Mortuary Facebook page
