Joe Kenneth Sturgeon

Joe Kenneth Sturgeon passed away peacefully June 19, 2023, at the age of 89. He was born June 13, 1934, in Twin Falls, Idaho to Stanley Robert and Elizabeth (Betty) Sturgeon. Joe attended Twin Falls High School, graduating with the class of 1952.

Joe was proud to serve his country as a Marine from January 1954 to January 1956. He met Sandra (Sunny) Jeanne Bopp in January 1956 and they married in Twin Falls on June 17, 1956. To this union, six children were born.

Joe spent many years with Prudential Insurance. He enjoyed hunting, mining for gold, and drives to the mountains.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents; and grandparents.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Sandra; children, Bret Sturgeon, Lisa (Joe) Cuellar, Suzanne (Jeff) Hutchinson, Rebecca (Jeff) Powell, Bryan Sturgeon, and Bryce (Amy) Sturgeon; four sisters; one brother; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A memorial family reunion open to all, will be held from 1:00 pm until 6:00 pm, Tuesday, July 4, 2023, at 240 Glacier Meadows Way, Kimberly, Idaho.

Graveside service will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at Elmwood Cemetery, 1863 Elmwood Rd, Gooding, Idaho.
