Josephine Talbot

November 2, 1927 — September 20, 2014

Twin Falls- Josephine "Jo" Talbot, 86, of Twin Falls, passed away Saturday September 20, 2014, in Twin Falls.  She was born November 2, 1927, in Walsenburg, Colorado, the daughter of Salvatore and Pauline Samartino.  She married Clyde Beamer and had one daughter, Patricia.  They were later divorced.  In 1964, she married the love of her life, Robert M. Talbot.  Together they lived in Sacramento, California, until Robert passed away in 1998.  Jo worked at the Wonder Bread Bakery in Sacramento.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, going to the beach, participating in the Shrine Club with her husband, cooking her favorite Italian recipes, and polka music.

Jo is survived by her daughter, Patricia Mckay of Wendell; her brother, John (Babette) Samartino of Medford, Oregon; her sisters, Nellie Correnti of Bellingham, Washington and Jennie Prutch of Quartzite, Arizona; her grandchildren, Tom (Carol) Mckay, Jr., of Jerome; Kim Sobotka of Surprise, Arizona; Todd (Jeannie) Mckay of Sandpoint; Chris Mckay (Carrie) of Barnesville, Minnesota; Michelle (Bill) Taylor of Meridian; Victor Mckay of Ft. Lewis, Washington; Lacey Mckay of Wendell and Noel Mckay of Jerome.  She is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends all whom she dearly loved.  She is preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Ann, Grace and Ella.

Jo's family would like to express their appreciation to Birchwood Retirement Estates for the special care she has received over the past five years.  Also to the staff at St. Luke's Magic Valley for the compassionate care provided during her hospital stay.  Chaplains Dale and Fred are both an inspiration to this community.  In accordance with Jo's wishes, no services will be held.

In lieu of flowers, Jo's family suggests that memorials be made in her name to:  Shriners Hospital for Children, Fairfax Road at Virginia Street,
Salt Lake City, UT 84103.  Arrangements are under the care of Farnsworth Mortuary of Jerome.
