Joshua "Josh" Thompson, 54, of Twin Falls, passed away on September 1, 2026. He was born April 14, 1972, in Pocatello, Idaho, the son of the late Rickie Thompson and Debra Parris.
Josh had a deep love for the outdoors. He grew up in Hawaii, and he loved to surf, longboard, fish, hike, and go camping. He also loved animals and always made an effort to take good care of his pets. Music was a meaningful part of his world, and his favorite band was The Grateful Dead. When Josh was 18, he renovated his own van and followed them around the country for their tour. Josh was strong in his faith and loved God. He enjoyed bringing people together, sharing a good meal, and making everyone feel welcome. He often expressed his love through joking around or teasing.
His most treasured memories were those made with his children, Savannah and Fischer. He enjoyed teaching his kids how to play baseball/softball and taking them fishing. The time they spent together as a family created memories that will be carried for a lifetime.
Josh had a big personality and always brought laughter to those around him. Josh's life touched many people, and he was loved by countless friends and family members who had the privilege of knowing him. Josh, you will be truly and deeply missed. The laughter you shared and the adventures you enjoyed will live on in our hearts forever. We love you.
Josh was a beloved son, brother, father, and friend who brought joy to all who knew him. He is survived by his daughter, Savannah Thompson; his sisters, Miah (Joel) Floyd and Rebecca (Jaimie) Valdez; and many nieces, nephews, and friends whom were family. Josh was greeted in heaven by his parents, Rickie and Debi; his brother, Nathaniel; his nephew, Garrison; his grandparents, Helen and Andrew, Bruce (Marlean) Thompson and Gaelyn (Pete) Proctor; and his cherished son, Fischer Thompson.
