Juanita Mae Luper, the last of her generation in our extended family, headed to Heaven on June 9, 2025, with family by her side. She was born May 19, 1928, to Jonathan and Frances (Blackston) Allred in Compton, Arkansas. Juanita married T. Russell Luper on August 10, 1946, and soon moved to Idaho. She never lost her sweet southern accent even after a lifetime in Idaho.
After living in the town of Jerome for a few years they purchased their farm in the Appleton area and spent many years farming and running a dairy. To keep herself occupied after selling the farm, she worked at Marshall's, Tupperware and the fish hatchery. At home she spent her time gardening, sewing and cooking full course meals. Two of her favorite pastimes were watching Nascar races and bull riding on TV. She also took many trips to Jackpot where she enthusiastically played the slots machines.
Juanita is survived by daughter, Patti Luper; son, Gary Luper (Lila Rue); daughter-in-law, Brenda Luper; grandchildren, Lance Luper (Tonia), Jeanne Hill (Scyler), Shawn Luper, Calvin Luper, and Vincenna Luper; great-grandchildren, Chance Luper (Taylinn), Hunter Hill, Creed Luper, Riley Luper, Destiny Eskola, Addelyn Luper, Graysin Luper and Liam Deshields; and great-great grandchildren, Emery & Sophie Luper.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Luper; son, Larry Luper; siblings, Rex Allred and Nadine Smith; and great grandchild, Aidan Deshields.
Juanita was greatly loved and respected as a mother, a grandmother, an aunt and friend. Her love, humor and pioneer spirit will be remembered always.
The family would like to thank Visions Hospice for their care and compassion in recent months, as well as Dr. Ficklin and staff for their years of care.
