Judy Urrutia

September 28, 1945 — August 14, 2022

GOODING

Judy Ona Urrutia, age 76, went home to be with her Savior on Sunday, August 14, 2022.

She was born in Gooding, Idaho on September 28, 1945, the daughter of Richard and Ona Gonsales. She graduated high school in Gooding and quickly married Larry Urrutia, on June 13, 1964. Judy and Larry had three wonderful children and lived in Pocatello, Idaho and Salt Lake City, Utah before returning home to help her newly widowed mother. Larry and she were able to build a beautiful home across the road from her childhood home, but later parted ways.

With hope in her heart, she found a friend in Don Daubner and their friendship and love healed their wounded hearts. They wed on November 27, 1978 and she added two more treasured children to her family. They lived blissfully together for 22 years, and she dutifully took care of Don as he unsuccessfully battled cancer and passed away in 2000.

After spending several years focusing on her family and building friendships, she met and married Bob Davis.  Sadly, after only 2 great years, Bob suddenly passed away in 2006. By August of 2010 she decided to reclaim her personal time and retire from her long career in public service. She proudly served as the Gooding Planning and Zoning Administrator for nearly 20 years.

Like a string tugging at her heart, she found her way back to her high school sweetheart, Larry, and welcomed his two beautiful daughters into her family. They remarried on June 13, 2011 and built their second dream home. They shared countless adventures and a life full of love that they thought could only exist in their dreams.

Family meant everything to Judy.  Spending time with any of them made for a perfect day in her eyes. She wouldn’t have traded anything for the moments she had with her loved ones, whether they were good or bad. She was fiercely strong and went through so many trials in her life. She would often wonder to herself if she was as strong as her beloved mother and although they were different in ways, they both had a strength within them that burned like a wildfire.

Judy loved to fill her free time with camping, traveling, flower gardening, square dancing, outings with friends, intricate craft making with elaborate home decorations for each season and holiday, and long conversations with her sister. She hand-made baby blankets for all of her grand and great grandchildren.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents; oldest brother; two husbands; and one grandchild, Ashlee Forsberg. She is survived by her husband, Larry Urrutia; brother, Ray Gonsales; sister, Dorothy Tschannen; children, Larry Joe (Nancy) Urrutia, Shelly (Guy) Forsberg, Julie (Paul) Silverio, Jon (Steph) Daubner, Crystal (Andrew) Rigby, Brookney (Tyler) Brown, and Baylie Kalkusinksi-Urrutia; 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, August 19, 2022, at St Jerome’s Catholic Church, 216 2nd Ave E, Jerome, Idaho.
