Karen A. Kramer (Chester) passed away peacefully after a short illness the morning of January 8, 2026, at Ashley Manor in Jerome. Karen was born in North Platte, Nebraska, December 8, 1952, to Eugene (Gene) and Lenora (Clouse) Kramer. After Karen graduated from high school, she worked at a Purina dog food manufacturing plant.
On a vacation with her mother to visit her brother, Jim, and sister-in-law, Mary, in Fairfield, Karen fell in love with Idaho. She soon gained employment at Tupperware and worked there until its closing. Karen’s love for animals led her to attend Dog grooming school in Oregon. There, she became a certified groomer and started a new adventure as Kramer Kanine Dog Grooming. Karen loved grooming and became the voice of those who could not speak. Karen’s greatest joy was in the companionship of her fur babies and the countless hundreds of fur baby clients that she fell in love with. “We find comfort in imagining Karen crossing the Rainbow Bridge, greeted by all the dear friends she cherished throughout her life, now reunited in endless fields of green”.
Karen’s legacy is one of boundless compassion, a reminder that the smallest creature can leave the largest voids, and the purest love. She taught us so much about loyalty, joy, and living in the moment.
Karen is survived by her brother, Jim “Spud” (Mary) Kramer; nephews, Travis (Dominque) Kramer, Rusty (Missy) Kramer, and Marsha Kramer, all of Fairfield Idaho; and sister-in-law, Gay Kramer, Heidi (Brian) Beaumont Burwell, and Holly Kramer from Nebraska; her fur babies, Mikey, Booboo and Greyboy; and countless nieces and nephew in Nebraska, California and Idaho. She also leaves behind many clients and lifelong friends who will miss her dearly, especially Beverly Gregg, Carolyn Culver, and Debbie Coffle, all of Jerome, Idaho; Delores White in Omaha, Nebraska; and goddaughter Audra Neves.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Gene and Lenora Kramer; brother, Jerry Kramer (Grease); nephew, Cody Kramer; and countless aunts and uncles.
Our special thanks to Auburn Crest and Ashley Manor in Jerome and all the staff, especially Ashley, for all their help.
