Kelsey Cole Prestwich, 51, of Wendell, Idaho, passed away unexpectedly on June 13, 2026.
Kelsey was preceded in death by his grandfather, Calvin Prestwich; his grandmother, Lola Prestwich; his grandmother, Fay Jenks; his grandfather, Mirl Jenks; his nieces, McKenzieand Vanessa Sevdin; and his father, Cole Prestwich, with whom he has now reunited.
Kelsey and his dad shared a lifelong bond that began when he was just a little boy riding along in the semi. After attending Utah State University, Kelsey followed his dream of walking in his father’s footsteps and joined the family trucking business, where he drove and took pride in the work they built together. His youngest brother, Kortney, also worked alongside Kelsey in the family business to keep the trucks running, and Kelsey cherished the time they spent working side by side.
Kelsey is survived by his loving wife, Juanita Prestwich; his children Destree (Marc), Candice(Sean), Kyle, and Austyn (Xander); his grandchildren Emma, Ray, Valorie, and Killian; his mother Karen Prestwich; his mother-in-law Valorie Kessler; and his siblings Kertus, Kasey, Caylee, and Kortney. Each of them carries a piece of his heart and his legacy.
Born in Twin Falls, Idaho, to Cole and Karen Prestwich, Kelsey lived a life centered on family, hard work, and the things he loved most. He was a devoted and loving husband to Juanita for 25 wonderful years. She was truly the love of his life, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories.
Kelsey was a proud and loving father to his children—each of whom he loved fiercely. Kyle reminded him more and more of himself every day, and Austyn—his “Daddy’s little princess”—will forever carry her father’s love with her. Some of Austyn’s favorite memories were the simple ones—going along with her dad for farm clean-ups, where he’d secretly let her have a Mountain Dew and whisper, “Just this once—don’t tell your mom.” Those moments captured his playful heart and the special bond they shared.
Kelsey was also there for Candice in every way a father could be. When her other dad was out of town for work, Kelsey proudly stepped in and took her to her father-daughter dance at prom. Rain or shine, no matter what life brought, he always showed up for his children.
He loved taking Kyle in the truck with him when he was little. Kyle had a tiny backpack he called his “truck bag,” always packed with snacks. Kelsey never watched him quite closely enough, and Kyle would eat one snack too many and end up getting sick—always in Kelsey’s bed. Kelsey would swear he wasn’t taking him anymore because “he pukes in my bed,” but the next trip he’d just lay a blanket on the floor and bring him anyway. He loved having his boy with him.
He was also a proud grandfather. Destree and Marc blessed him with Emma, Ray, and Valorie, and Candice and Sean gave him a beautiful baby grandson, Killian. His grandchildren brought him immeasurable joy and pride.
Growing up, Kelsey spent much of his time teasing and tormenting his younger siblings—Kertus, Kasey, Caylee, and Kortney—in the way only a big brother can. Those moments, once chaotic, have become priceless memories they will hold close to their hearts forever. One of the family’s favorite stories came from those childhood days: Candice used to hit Destree, and Destree would never hit her back. One day, Kelsey finally told her, “If she hits you again, you can hit her back.” Later, a loud whack echoed up the stairwell, followed by screams. Destree came running upstairs, saying over and over, “No, it’s okay — you told me I could! You told me I could!” Candice, still sobbing, cried, “But she hit me back!” It became a story they laughed about for years.
Kelsey had a deep love for trucking and took immense pride in owning K Bar J Trucking with Juanita. Driving trucks wasn’t just a job to him—it was a passion. He loved his semis and could tell you every detail that made each one unique. He also had a passion for hunting, and some of his happiest moments were spent in the mountains. In his free time, he loved camping in Stanley with Juanita, enjoying the peace, beauty, and freedom of the outdoors together.
More than anything, Kelsey was the rock of his family—the one people leaned on, counted on, and loved deeply. His strength, humor, and unwavering love will never be forgotten. His loss leaves an immeasurable void in the lives of his family and friends.
