On August 12, 2025, Lenny Luckman—our beloved husband, dad, father-in-law, and grandpa—passed away peacefully at home. True to his nature, he lived life his way right up to the end.
Lenny was the youngest of three children born to Stanley and Vivian Luckman. He entered the world at St. Benedicts Hospital in Jerome, Idaho, and spent most of his life in Jerome. He attended local schools and was part of the graduating class of 1977—the first to graduate from the “new high school.”
Lenny created countless memories with family and friends through camping, fishing, rockhounding, and trips to the Oregon coast. Over the years, he held several jobs, including a memorable winter at Soldier Mountain Ski Area, where he earned the nickname “Lucky Lenman.” He also spent several years raising potatoes with Jeff Bragg before joining Western Waste Services in 2000, where he worked until his retirement in 2023.
Lenny deeply loved his family and friends and was known for his happy-go-lucky spirit and zest for life.
Lenny is survived by his wife of 44 years, Bonnie; his children, Ashley (Oscar) Garcia and Andrew (Hailey) Luckman; and two grandsons, Mason Garcia and Brok Luckman.
"Our lives flourish when we cherish the bonds of love and friendship." — Catherine, Princess of Wales
Our family extends heartfelt appreciation to the first responders of the Jerome Fire and Police Departments and Magic Valley Paramedics for their courageous efforts.
As per Lenny’s wishes, there will be no formal service. An open house will be held from 1:30 pm until 3:00 pm, Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at the Snake River Elks Lodge #2807, 412 East 200 south, Jerome.
Memories and condolences may be shared with the family on Lenny’s memorial webpage at www.farnsworthmortuary.com.
