Lorene Dean

February 2, 1930 — January 30, 2022

JEROME

Lorene E. Slatter Dean passed away January 30, 2022, at the age of 91, from natural causes. She was born February 2, 1930, to Rolland E. Slatter and Lucille Gentry Slatter at Filer, Idaho. Lorene was the oldest of six children: four sisters, Ruby Hutchinson, Lee Keller, Lois Tilton, and Velma Riddle; and one brother, Stan Slatter.

Lorene grew up in Jerome, Idaho and graduated from Jerome High School. She married Hoyt Dean and to this union a daughter was born, Rohanna Dean Thomas. She and Hoyt later divorced.

Lorene worked at the Idaho Department Store in Twin Falls, then got a job at Mountain Bell Telephone Company as a telephone operator. Although the company had a few name changes, she worked for them for 38 years.

Lorene had three grandsons, Jeff, Rodney, and Jeremy Thomas; and five great grandchildren. She was a kind, strong, independent person that loved her family and her many friends. She never forgot her farm upbringing, the hard work with the horses, the love of the farm life, and wanting to know about farming in our present times.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Rohanna; grandson, Jeremy; and siblings, Ruby, Stan, and Lee.

She is survived by two grandsons, Jeffery and Rodney Thomas; and two sisters, Lois Tilton and Velma Riddle.

The family would like to thank Hospice Visions, Inc. for their care and the wonderful care from Blue Bonnet Haus for the exceptional care that Christina and Dr. Nichole Halverson gave her.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, March 5, 2022, at the Twin Falls Reformed Church, 1631 Grandview Dr N, Twin Falls.

Memories and condolences may be shared with the family on Lorene’s memorial webpage at www.farnsworthmortuary.com.
