Loretta Mae Lewis

Our wonderful, loving mother and grandmother to many children quietly passed away on October 17, 2026. She was surrounded by her children when she passed. Mom's family was the most important thing in her life.

She was born on November 5, 1936, to Frank and Blanche Messenger. She married the love of her life, Harvey Lewis, on May 27, 1954. To this marriage came her children: John Lewis, Sandra Allison, Kathy Schoessler (Dugan), Judy (Rick) Wilcox, Gail (Michelle) Lewis, and Lane (Geri) Lewis. Along with this marriage, she was blessed with three additional children: Lyndia (Lowell) Townley, Charlotte Evans, and Jerry (Cenia) Wageman.

Mom is survived by her children: Lyndia Townley, John Lewis, Sandra Allison, Kathy Schoessler, Judy Wilcox, and Lane Lewis. Mom has over 104 grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her mother and father; her sister, Linda Towne; her brother, Clyde Messenger; her sons, Gail Lewis and Jerry Wageman; her daughter, Charlotte Evans; two grandsons, Jeremy Evans and Mathew Townley; and two granddaughters, Samantha and Rebecca Lewis.

A Celebration of Loretta’s Life will be held from 1pm until 3pm, Saturday, November 14, 2026 at the Snake River Elks Lodge, 412 E 200 S, Jerome.
