Lynford Smith

Jerome- Lynford Fletcher Smith, 80, of Jerome, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday November 19, 2015, surrounded by his family.  He was born July 24, 1935, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the son of Chet and Ruth Smith.  Lyn was raised in Prudenceville, Michigan and attended Michigan State College.  He went to work for DeLaval Separator Company and retired after 28 years of service.  In 1998, he settled in Jerome, Idaho.  Lyn enjoyed dairy work, woodworking and camping with his friends in the Good Sam's Club.  Mostly he loved spending time with his family.

Lyn is survived by his wife, Gayle Smith; their children, Jami Kluesner, Suzi Williams, Marti Maxon, Tony Smith, Jodi Southwell, Julie Pulling and Teri Fidelman; 24 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sharon Whitehead and Gail Rains; one brother, Turk Smith; and many extended family members and friends.  He is preceded in death by his parents.

In accordance with his wishes, no formal services will be held.

Lyn's family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made in his name to:  St. Luke's Health Foundation, c/o Mountain States Tumor Institute (MISTI),  801 Pole Line Rd West, Twin Falls, ID 83301.
