Marijane Kober

Marijane Kober, aged 83, passed away in her family home on Sunday, August 4, 2024, surrounded by photos and memories of the loved ones she cherished. Born to Robert and Grace Hodge on February 3, 1941, and married to her sweetheart in 1964. 

Marijane was a pillar in her home wholly devoted to raising her children, loving her husband of 51 years, and providing a home full of warmth and good food. An avid hostess and collector of beautiful antiquities, Marijane gathered family around picturesque tables laden with carefully selected silver and decor. Whether snapping beans, ironing, sneaking treats to the grandchildren, or supporting the farm from within, Marijane’s life was a tapestry of dedication, love, and kindness. Her home was constantly filled with the pitter-patter of little feet and laughter as generation after generation was born. 

Marijane is survived by her children, Shaunna (Gary) Ferrenburg, Stacye (Rick) Young, Kim (Mike) Platt, and Lance Kober; 14 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. She now rests with her beloved Edward and her son Shane. 

A memorial service to honor Marijane's life will be held at 3:00 pm, Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Farnsworth Mortuary, 1343 S Lincoln Ave, Jerome. Immediately following the services, family and friends are invited to gather for dinner and share fond memories as we remember our Mother, Grandmother, and Friend at 4:00 pm, at Life Church of the Magic Valley, 425 Nez Perce, Jerome.
