Merle Van Patten

JEROME – Merle Lorraine Van Patten, 87, of Jerome, passed away Sunday, January 10, 2016, in Twin Falls.  She was the daughter of Hubert Woody and Esther Linder Woody.  Merle was raised in Jerome and graduated from Jerome High School in 1946.  She attended College in Pocatello.  She married Ronald Van Patten on May 20, 1949 in Jerome and they raised three daughters.   Merle spent the majority of her working years as a bookkeeper for the Wendell Grange Supply.  She loved fishing, playing pinochle, reading and spending time with her family.  She especially enjoyed her time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Merle is survived by her daughters:  Pearl Golding (Richard), Rhonda Wong  and Valerie McClymonds;  six grandchildren, one step-grandson, six great-grandchildren, two step-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Pearl, and husband Ronald.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. , Saturday January 16, 2016 , at Farnsworth Mortuary, 1343 South Lincoln, Jerome, with a visitation one hour prior to the service.  Interment will follow in the Jerome Cemetery.
