Michael Dion Berg, 68, of Jerome, died Saturday, June 10, 2017 at his residence in Jerome.
Mike was born May 14, 1949 in Buffalo, New York to Ramon and Audrey Rich Berg. He was raised in Syracuse and went to school there as well. He attended college in Maryland, played football and received his bachelor's degree. After graduation he enlisted in the Army and served his country in the Vietnam War. After the war his sister Debbie was working with Cathy Louis at First Trust Bank and that is how he met the love of his life, Cathy. They were married December 8, 1973 in Syracuse, New York.
Mike worked in many different sales jobs from banking to meat sales but he took the most pride in being sales manager for United Biscuit. He and Cathy were living in New York at that time and he traveled all over the United States in that position.
Mike and Cathy moved to Jerome, Idaho where he was able to become an active member of the community. He was a member of the Jerome VFW and the Elks where he was Exalted Ruler three different years. He loved golf, playing pool, trips to Jackpot and cooking. He was an avid BSU and Syracuse football fan and followed professional basketball and football, and enjoyed watching the Buffalo Bills.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife Cathy; son, Peter (Jennifer); daughter, Amanda (Josh); sister, Deborah Fountain; and step-brothers, Edward and Phillip Stoudemire; granddaughter, Alexandra Grace Berg.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 4:00 pm, Saturday, June 24, 2017, at the Snake River Elks Lodge, 412 E 200 S, Jerome, Idaho.
