Murle Vernon Sisiam

October 15, 1945 — August 2, 2025

DIETRICH

Murle Vernon Sisiam, 79, of Dietrich, Idaho, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2025, surrounded by his family. A man of pure strength, wisdom, and a fierce love for his loved ones. Murle lived a life full of meaning and resilience.

Murle was born on October 15, 1945, in Hailey Idaho, to Juanita Marie James and Merle Jones and was later adopted by Wilford “Wolf” Gayle Sisiam, who raised him as his own. He grew up in Hailey alongside his sister, Vicki Lynn, where he spent much of his childhood working with his dad in his dad’s vehicle servicing shop, earning awards and building skills he carried throughout his life.

Murle went on to study Fish Technology at the College of Southern Idaho, (while working in the fish hatchery in Twin Falls) after earning his degree, he moved to Idaho Falls where he worked and eventually retired from Basic American Foods.

In his later years, Murle made his home in Dietrich, where he helped take care of his son Rodney’s estate for a few years, while Rodney was doing work in Montana. Later Rodney moved back to be with his dad. He enjoyed the simple and honest parts of life: hunting, fishing, and having a drink, but nothing brought him more joy than spending time with his loved ones. He may have been one stubborn man, but his wisdom came from real experience, and he never kept it to himself if he thought it could help someone else.

He was the proud father of 4 children: Rodney (Crystal) Sisiam of Dietrich, Dusty Sisiam of Idaho Falls, Heidi (Brian) Davis of Jerome, Josh Sisiam of Powers. Murle leaves behind a legacy carried on by his grandchildren: Chelsea Sisiam, Richmond Ganieany, Dustin Sisiam, Mathew Sisiam, Jewel Gifford, Silvyr Sisiam, Mckenzie Sisiam, Memphis Sisiam, Jennifer Gifford, and Alexis Sisiam, along with 11 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Juanita Marie James; and father, Wilford “Wolf” Sisiam.

He lived a happy eventful life, and he wanted everyone to know it.

Murle will be forever missed by all who knew him, and will be remembered for his stoicism, fortitude, and selflessness. The way he showed up for people made an impact, you’ll never forget it.

We love you, Dad/Grandpa. ~ Our Fallen Family Hero
