On October 10, 2021 Oliver Leroy Lowman of Jerome, Idaho went home to be with his Heavenly Father. He was born April 19, 1936 in Topeka, Kansas to Fred Oliver Lowman and Winnie Oleta Blackburn Lowman of Ashland, Kansas.
Oliver joined the Navy in July of 1956. After serving as a Naval Aviation Machinist for 20 years he retired from the Navy on April 19, 1976 and moved to Jerome, Idaho where he resided until his passing. Oliver was a devoted member of Jerome Bible Baptist Church.
Oliver attended the College of Southern Idaho, earning his bachelor’s degree in Diesel Hydraulics. He enjoyed woodworking and farm machinery. He was employed by Jerome Implement Inc. and John Deere of Wendell, Idaho. Oliver loved the outdoors, spending time with his church family, going camping and fishing, and working in his garden. He also enjoyed many road trips.
Oliver was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Elaine Walters; wives, Gladys Lillian Cook Lowman and Lavora Rue Dean Lowman; daughter, Teresa Marie Lowman Owening; and grandson, Jimmy Leroy Lowman.
He is survived by his sister, Ethel Carter; girlfriend, Lois Winder of Jerome; daughter, Wanda Sue Lowman Ernst of Buhl; son, Jimmy Lowman of Jerome; daughter, Cathy Lowman Carroll of Oklahoma; and daughter, Sally Lowman McViegh of Wisconsin; stepchildren, Darla Cunningham of Kuna; Louis Dean of Jerome; and Lonny Dean of Washington; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
A viewing will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, October 14, 2021, at Farnsworth Mortuary, 1343 S Lincoln Ave, Jerome. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 15, 2021, at Jerome Bible Baptist Church, 132 2nd Ave E, Jerome, with a graveside service concluding at Jerome Cemetery.
