Richard "Dick" Bryant

JEROME

Dick, age 72, was born in Harrison, Arkansas on March 26, 1947, the third child of Aire Buddy Bryant and Mary Melvina Bartlett Bryant. Dick died January 8, 2020 doing one of the things he loved, working with his friends putting in a head gate on a canal for North Side Canal Company when he had a heart attack.

He was raised in Arkansas until 1954, when his parents decided to move to Idaho where they had family. The family live in Jerome where his father worked for various farmers. Dick attended school and completed his education in Jerome. Dick worked several jobs when he was younger, driving truck and working construction, he even worked for a time with his father in construction. He worked about 19 years for Scarrow’s Building Supply doing construction, cutting and hauling firewood, poles, posts and lumber. Dick was last employed at North Side Canal Company which to him was more fun than work. Here he was able to work with some of his best friends including his boss, Ted Dieh,l and father-in-law, Bob Fallon, who were also his hunting and fishing buddies. He also made many lasting friendships with the people he worked with at North Side Canal.

Dick married Martelle Norris and to this union his daughter, Leslie, and son, Scott, were born. They divorced and he later married Brenda McDowell. After their divorce Dick married Patty Fallon Conklin and welcomed a stepdaughter, Teri.

Dick is survived by his wife, Patty; daughters, Leslie Settles and Teri Beebe; sisters, Helen (John) Roberts, Glenda (John) Sherbenou and Ramona (Jack) Larson; brothers, Ira (Mary), Charles (Dorothy), Johnny (Shirley) and Doye (Marg); 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents; son, Scott Norris; brother, Jeff Bryant; grandson, Marcuss Settles; great granddaughter, Scotty Norris; and by all of his Aunts and Uncles and various cousins.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, January 18, 2020 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 50 E 100 S, Jerome, ID with Bishop Jeff Stoker officiating.
