Robert Nelson Ferguson

Robert Nelson Ferguson, 85, passed away on October 3, 2026, at home in Buhl, Idaho, surrounded by his family.

Robert was born on January 19, 1941, in Twin Falls, Idaho. He graduated from Nampa High School in Nampa, Idaho and went on to enlist in the United States Navy, where he served proudly. Over the course of his working life, he served in a career with the Clearwater National Forest Service and also worked for the Washington Department of Transportation.

On February 14, 1969, Robert married Phyllis Jean Robbins in Boise, Idaho. Their marriage was a lasting and important part of his life, and family remained at the center of who he was. Those who knew Robert will remember that he lived by a simple and meaningful principle: family first.

Robert was a member in good standing of the Elk's Lodge, the American Legion, and the Moose Lodge. He enjoyed gathering firewood, camping, and spending time outdoors, pursuits that reflected his appreciation for nature and the simple pleasures of life.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Jean Robbins Ferguson; his daughter, Robin Gilmore; his sons, Gary Ferguson and Terry Ferguson; and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Beryl Ferguson; his mother, Juanita Marie Pullin Ferguson; his brother, James "T" Ferguson; and his sister, Betty Jean Conkle.

Robert will be remembered with love by his family and by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His life was marked by service, dedication, and a deep devotion to those he loved.
