Ronald "Ron" Parish

Ronald “Ron” George Parish passed away at the age of 74 on August 25, 2022 surrounded by his children and dear friends in Twin Falls, Idaho after a battle with cancer. He was born on March 28, 1948 to Boyd and Hilda Parish in Rupert, Idaho. As one of five siblings, Ron's early years were filled with adventures from Alaska, where his father was a school teacher, to Canada, to rural Idaho.

He married Linda Cox in Burley, Idaho on June 7, 1968. He enlisted in the Air Force, completed his basic training at Lackland Air Force Base in TX, and was then stationed in Great Falls, MT where his oldest son, Shawn, was born. After the military, they returned to Idaho where they had four more children. Ron had a diverse career, working as an insurance salesman, grain elevator inspector, small business owner and hunting guide. He and Linda divorced in 2009. He spent the remainder of his life in Idaho.

An avid hunter, horseman, and outdoorsman, Ron was never happier or more at peace than being surrounded by the beauty of the mountains. He will be remembered for his gift of storytelling, cowboy poetry and for making strangers into immediate friends. His impact on the people in his life was profound and he will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by three of his five children; Lance Parish, his wife, Brandy and their three children Braxton, Wyatt, and McKinzy; Ronna Parish; Jory Parish, his wife Valerie and their three children, Tayson, Jaycee, and Mailey; and his grandsons, Kagan, Kolton, and Kaileb Crow. He is also survived by two sisters, Vickie Clifford and Valerie Furniss. He was preceded in death by his eldest son, Shawn; his youngest daughter, Jaimi; his parents; and his two brothers, Rodney and Randy.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm with family greeting guests beginning at 1:00 pm, Friday, September 2, 2022 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 20494 Main Street, Carey, Idaho 83320. Grave dedication will conclude at Carey Cemetery.
