Susan Thomas

Susan Mills Thomas, 68 of Dietrich, passed away Thursday, May 4, 2017, at home following a short illness. Susan Marie Ballard was born May 26, 1948 in Wendell, Idaho to Leo Ballard and Lois Mae Anderson.

The highlight of her life was being grandmother to Mackenzie Sisiam, Preston Hartvigsen, and Wyatt and Presley Hepworth.  During her cherished 20-plus years with Head Start in Shoshone, she helped mold the lives of many young people who expressed their gratitude to her after they were grown.  She was also the “Avon Lady” for many who counted her as their friend for over 40 years.

Susan was preceded in death by husbands, Darwin Mills and Warren Thomas; and parents, Leo and Lois Ballard and Roger Stoddard.

She is survived by two sons, Rodney Sisiam (Crystal) of Gardiner, Montana and Monte Mills of Pocatello;  three “daughters”,  Halie Hepworth of Murtaugh, Megin Pitman of Taylorsville, Utah, and Desi Hartvigsen of California; granddaughters, Mackenzie Sisiam and Presley Hepworth; grandsons, Preston Hartvigsen and Wyatt Hepworth; Mike Mase; and Shawn and Tyler Gifford; her loving companion, David Champ; brothers, Leon, Lynn, Daryl and Lou Ballard and Alan, Guy and Randy Stoddard; and sisters, Wendy, Dawn, Barbara, Karla and Janice Stoddard.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, May 13, 2017 at the LDS Church in Dietrich, Idaho with a viewing beginning at 10:00 am. Grave dedication will conclude at the Shoshone Cemetery. Shoshone, Idaho.
