Sydney Ross McDowell

Ross lost his battle with cancer at home in Jerome with his family by his side on November 15, 2023. He was born March 25, 1965 in Jerome, Idaho to Don and Bonnie McDowell.

Ross had a wonderful sense of humor and kept everyone laughing. He will be missed forever by his family and many friends, especially his best friend “ZZ” Todd. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and being outdoors. He especially enjoyed riding his Harley.  He was a 1983 Jerome graduate.  He served in the US Army from 1983-1987.  He was a member of NHRA and SCCA racing some impressive cars that he helped build.  He worked as a mechanic for 40 years in the Magic Valley.

He was preceded in death by his father, Don McDowell.  He is survived by his mother, Bonnie McDowell; brother, Mitch (Jennifer) McDowell of Jerome; sister, Heather (Ryan) Parton of Gannett; nephews, Andrew McDowell and David Abrams; and niece, Sara McDowell.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm, Monday November 27, 2023, at Farnsworth Mortuary, 1343 S Lincoln Ave Jerome.
