Teddy West

Jerome- MSgt. Teddy Joe West, USAF (Ret.), 85, of Jerome, passed away peacefully on Tuesday April 5, 2016, in Jerome.  He was born March 2, 1931, in Wendell, Idaho, the son of George Edgar West and Josephine Adeline Wickersham West.  Ted was raised in Wendell and graduated from Wendell High School in 1949.  He enlisted in the US Army Air Corps and transitioned to the Air Force where he Honorably retired after 26 years of service.  On July 17, 1951, he married Jane Simmons in Jerome, Idaho.  The military life took the young family around the globe.  In 1976, following Ted's retirement, they returned to Idaho and settled in Jerome.  Ted soon went to work for the State of Idaho Transportation Department and finally retired in 1993.  He enjoyed fishing and hunting, camping and especially "going for a drive."

Ted is survived by his sweetheart of 64 years, Jane West of Jerome; their children, Judy (Ray) Shaw of Daleville, AL, Terry West of Orlando, FL, David West of Jerome and Cheryl Lamm-Peterson, also of Jerome; six grandchildren, Leah, Scott, Benjamin, Jason, Andrew and Emma;  four great-grandchildren, Hunter, Michael, Ryder and Jasie; his in-laws, Alice West, Reeda O'Toole, Nephi (Betty) Simmons, Thora Lange, Carl (Lorna) Simmons, Paula (Gordon) McCowen, Teresa (Rick) Crumrine, Harley (Sharon) Simmons and Joy (J.V.) Mitchell; and many extended family members and friends.  He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Juanita Jacobsen and his brother Clyde West.

A visitation will be held Sunday evening, April 10, 2016 , at Farnsworth Mortuary, 1343 South Lincoln, Jerome, where family and friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. , Monday April 11, 2016 , also at Farnsworth Mortuary, with Bishop Ed King officiating.

Interment with military honors will follow in the Wendell Cemetery.
