Terry Lyn Kestle

Terry Lyn Kestle, age 66, of Jerome, Idaho, passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2026 after a long and courageous health battle.

Terry was born on August 5, 1960, in Jerome, Idaho to Wendell and Galena Kestle. He was the youngest of four children. Although his father passed away when he was only 14 months old, Terry had many wonderful people who helped Galena raise him, including his Aunt “Jean” and Uncle Fred; brother-in-law, Gary Roberts; and older siblings. He graduated from Jerome High School in 1978 and went on to complete a body shop technician program at the College of Southern Idaho that guided his career.

Terry had a love for sports, especially baseball and basketball, that started at a young age. He was not only a star in his younger years, but continued to play well into adulthood, often traveling around the northwest to compete in softball tournaments on weekends. He passed along his passion for sports to others, coaching the youth teams of his children and others in the community, as well as supporting CSI athletics as a booster and avid fan.

In 1984, he met Glenda Hance while working at Twin Falls Truck and Equipment. She worked in the office and he worked in the body shop. They later married in May of 1987 and welcomed their first baby, Jeremy, in June of 1988. In November of 1991 they welcomed their daughter, Kenisha, and the family was complete. Although they did not remain married, they continued to be close friends and wonderful co-parents to their two children for the next 30 years.

Terry’s career revolved around the trucking industry with specific expertise in truck collision and body repair. For over ten years, he served as the body shop foreman at Twin Falls Truck and Equipment, where he was well loved by his customers and was often requested for his excellence. Over the next 20 years, he was offered leadership and management roles with several trucking companies, including Arlo G. Lott, Giltner, Kenworth, and, finally, Premier Truck Group.

Although his health forced him to retire at the age of 61, he didn’t let that slow him down for long. He courageously learned how to do home hemodialysis on his own so he could return to the things he loved. He began a part-time job at 93 Golf Ranch where he was able to socialize and connect with people – something he dearly loved and enjoyed. Terry was definitely a people person who knew no stranger and was deeply loved by all.

Terry was an avid outdoorsman. He loved pheasant hunting with his son and their labs (the “dual retrievers”), fishing with his twin ex-brother-in-law/ best friend Rick Hance, ATV riding with his beloved grandbabies, camping with his family, and playing golf when he could.

Terry had a very kind and giving heart. He was always the first call many people would make when they needed help. He was a very proud father and Papa. He loved his two granddaughters more than anything in this world, always showing their pictures to anyone who would look.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Bill Kestle, his sister Beverly Frederickson, and his lifelong best friends Marvin Thompson, Dusty Addey, and Doug Blevins.

He is survived by his son, Jeremy (Mimi) Kestle of Moscow; his daughter, Kenisha (Colton) of Jerome and their children Charlotte and Natalie; his sister, Cheryl (Gary) Roberts of Buhl; and his chocolate lab, Dixie.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 pm, Thursday, September 10, 2026, at the Elks Lodge in Jerome with a luncheon to follow.
