Thomas Close

Jerome- Thomas Eugene Close, 80, of Jerome and formerly of Eden, passed away Monday May 16, 2016, in Twin Falls.  He was born June 17, 1935, in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of Joel F. Close and Ethel M. Wilkinson Close.  Tom moved out west after a hitch in the U.S. Air Force and spent most of his working years as a truck driver, ranch hand and auctioneer.  He married Betty Jean Hicks and together they raised six children.  Betty passed away in 1996.  Tom then became companions with Judy Parks and she passed away in 2015.  He is survived by five children; Daniel (Mary) Coverdale, John (Sheila) Coverdale, Betty (Tom) Hock, James (Dora) Coverdale and Lucille (Shawn) Garvin.  He is also survived by many extended family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Betty and their son, Thomas Eugene Close, Jr.

Memorial services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. , Saturday May 21, 2016 , at Free Will Baptist Church, 810 South Cleveland, Jerome.  Arrangements are under the care of Farnsworth Mortuary of Jerome. www.farnsworthmortuary.com
