Walter ‘Wally’ Peterson

Nov. 21, 1940-Oct. 24, 2014

JEROME • Walter “Wally” Peterson, 73, a loving husband, father and phenomenal pop, peacefully passed away in his sleep Friday, Oct. 24, 2014.

He came into the world on Nov. 21, 1940, in Wendell, Idaho, to Fred Sr. and Blossom Peterson. He was the youngest of seven children. He joined Fred Jr. “Bud,” Elizabeth “Ta,” Doris “Dorie,” Merriam “Babe,” Theodore “Ted,” and Ed “Butch.” Wally graduated from Jerome High School in 1959, with more honors then we can mention. He married the love of his life, Gail Darling, on Oct. 11, 1965. Wally and Gail were blessed with two children, Polly Peterson Hulsey and Rance Peterson. The pride of their lives was their seven grandchildren: Katelynn, Brock, Jacoby, Kehler, Kreede, Dawson and Sammy. They also enjoyed their two furry bulldog children, Gracee and Herky. Wally enjoyed farming with his brother, Bud, and brother-in-law, Bill Barnes. With his expertise of operating a backhoe, he went to work for Gilbert Construction. He left construction to build the 93 Golf Course in partnership with his brother, Ed.

We invite family and friends to dress casually and celebrate the many memories of his life at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, at the Snake River Elks Lodge, 412 E. 200 S. of Jerome, Idaho.

Wally’s family suggests that, in lieu of flowers, memorials be made in his name to the KO-AD Foundation Alzheimer’s Research Fund, University Advancement, Boise State University Foundation, 2225 University Drive, Boise, ID 83706.

Arrangements are under the care of Farnsworth Mortuary of Jerome.
